The young composer Camille Pépin will be with the Festival from 22 August 22 to 22 August . Camille Pepin will give explanations of the three pieces of hers that will be performed during the Festival: Snow, Moon and Flowers; Luna; and Water Leaves of Silvacane. The last piece has been commissioned by a partnership between the Festival and the Musiktage Mondsee in Austria. (The Austrian premiere of this piece will take place the first week of September.)
Camille Pépin will participate in presentations of her works as well as a roundtable on female artists.
The young professional academy in partnership with ProQuartet
Since 2015, the Festival has been partnering with ProQuartet to organise master classes for young string quartets in the magical setting of “Conservatoire des Ocres”. This year, Gilles Millet from the Danel Quartet will coach some of the great string quartets of the future from 18 to 24 august.
A public master class will take place on Friday, August 23 in the morning. For details, call +33 6 76 08 42 83. Later that day, the young musicians will present their work in a final concert on 23 August at 7 pm in the church of Roussillon. This concert will be the closing event of “String Quartet Day,” described below.
A chamber music training session for amateur musicians in partnership with ProQuartet
Classes will take place from August 19 to 24 at the Conservatoire du Pays d'Apt-Luberon and will be taught by Pierre Nentwig, cellist and teacher at the National Conservatory of Marseille, and Philippe MOUCHON, violist and professor at the CRR in Avignon. Trainees of all ages will present their work during a concert which will take place in Roussillon on String Quartet Day, 23 August.
The Third Annual " String Quartet Day" in partnership with the Township of Roussillon, the Conservatoire des Ocres and ProQuartet
This project has expanded each year since it began in 2017. It is the result of a partnership between the Festival, ProQuartet, the Township of Roussillon and the Conservatoire des Ocres. On Friday, 23 August, the young professionals of the Academy, the amateur trainees, and several musicians from the Festival will enliven the streets and various places in Roussillon, making for an exceptional day. Short concerts, a presentation of violin-making handicraft, a public master class, a musical picnic, etc., will be scattered throughout the day. A concert by young professionals will close out the day at the Roussillon Church at 7pm.
Amateurs and musicians of the region are invited to join the participants of the ProQuartet amateur training session to perform Le Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré on 23 August in Roussillon. There is only one condition: you must participate in the rehearsal that will take place on 20 August at the Conservatoire d'Apt.
