Quartett MINETTI

       
The Austrian Minetti Quartet has been based in Vienna since it was founded 18 years ago.
In the MuTh, Vienna's newest concert hall, the quartet has been creating its own concert cycle for three years. International concert tours through Europe, Asia, North and South America have enriched everyday concert life from the very beginning.
A new CD release with music of the 20th century is planned for 2020/21. (Berg-Ligeti-Shostakovich) This production is realized with the help of the Alban Berg Foundation Vienna.

The name "Minetti Quartet" refers to a play by the writer Thomas Bernhard, who lived in Ohlsdorf in the Salzkammergut, where the two violinists of the quartet grew up.
Since being nominated for the “Rising Stars” cycle of the “European Concert Hall Organization” in 2008/09, the Minetti Quartet has performed repeatedly in the most renowned concert halls in Vienna, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm, Brussels, London, etc. There will be many concerts Recorded and broadcast by international radio stations.
The quartet has performed as a soloist with the RSO Vienna and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.

Chamber music partners include Fazil Say, Till Fellner, Jörg Widmann, Paul Meyer, Sharon Kam, Thomas Riebl, István Vardai, Camille Thomas, Alois Posch, soloists of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic and the Mandelring Quartet.

The Minetti Quartet is the winner of numerous international chamber music competitions (Schubert Competition, Haydn Competition) and has also received the Austrian “Great Gradus ad Parnassum Prize”, the start-up grant from the Austrian Federal Ministry and the Karajan grant.
Mentors and supporters of the Minetti Quartet were Johannes Meissl and the members of the Alban Berg Quartet at the Vienna University of Music, where the quartet met in 2003. As a participant of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), they also received significant artistic impulses from Ferenc Rados, Alfred Brendel and members of the Artemis Quartet, Amadeus Quartet and Hagen Quartet.
Since 2009, Hänssler Classic has released four highly acclaimed CD recordings with string quartets by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Schubert, and Avi music has released clarinet quintets with Matthias Schorn.
Teaching activities in Finland, Spain, Sweden, Mexico, as well as at US and Austrian universities. Milan and Leonhard teach the subjects viola concert and chamber music at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

The Austrian National Bank provides the quartet with 2 violins by GB Guadagnini (“Mantegazza” 1774 and the “ex Meinel”, 1770-1775) and a cello by G. Tononi (Bologna, 1681) on loan. Milan Milojicic plays a Bernd Hiller viola (2009).
