Camille Pépin


Born in 1990, Camille Pepin is one of the most successful rising young composers of her generation. She began her musical studies at the Regional Conservatory in Amiens, studied with Thibaut Perrine and then entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she was awarded first prizes in Orchestration, Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue and Form, Analysis. She studied notably with composers Thierry Escaich, Guillaume Connesson, and Marc-André Dalbavie - all of whom were paramount in her musical journey.
Her orchestral piece Vajrayana received the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize at the composition competition Ile de Créations in 2015. It was premiered at the Paris Philharmonie by the Orchestre National d'Ile de France (conducted by Nicholas Collon) and then aired on France Musique (Radio France), along with her other works.
She is invited in numerous festivals : Festival Présences, Festival Messiaen au Pays de la Meije, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Les Grandes Heures de Cluny, Festival Européen Jeunes Talents, Musikstage Mondsee, La Grange aux Pianos, Festival international de musique de Besançon-Franche-Comté, Festival Présences Féminines, Musique au Bois, EuropArt or at Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition for which she composes the contemporary work imposed on the finalists candidates in 2018.
Her works have been played in the most prestigious concert halls (Philharmonie de Paris, Auditorium de Radio France, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Elbphilharmonie de Hambourg, Wiener Konzerthaus, Kölner Philharmonie, Barbican Center London, Müpa Budapest, Bozar à Bruxelles, Konzerthuset Stockholm, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Sage Gateshead…).
Camille is a grant recipient of the Foundation Banque Populaire. Her works are published by Billaudot Editions, Jobert Editions and Durand-Salabert-Eschig.
